Parents Meeting: There is an important meeting for all parents of players this Wednesday night at 9pm in the clubhouse. It is very important that all parents attend.

Reserve League 1: Dromard 1-7 v Clonguish 1-13. We played the 4th round of the Reserve League 1 competition against Clonguish in Newtwonforbes on Friday night last and unfortunately after a close encounter where we led on a number of occasions the game slipped away from us in the last 5 minutes when Clonguish scored a well taken goal by Derek Duggan and followed this up with two points. Dromard led by 3 points at the break, 0-7 to 0-3 in a half where Gary Maguire popped over 5 of the 7 scores. Clonguish came out strong in the second half to take a 1 point lead after 15 minutes. Dromard responded with a well finished Ciaran McStay goal after a sublime pass by Maguire to retake the lead. However, Dromard had 7 or 8 reasonable opportunities in the half where the ball was sent wide or dropped short into the keepers hands, which in addition to some poor passing cost us in the end.  Apart from that there were long passages where Dromard completely dominated. With a bit more composure and had we not had a number of players carrying injures during the game and Emmet Masterson and Brendan McLoughloin ruled out through injury, things could have well been very different at the final whistle. Team: Sean McNerney, Enda Kiernan, James Mimnagh, Michael Reilly, Alan McLoughlin, Padraig McNerney , Peter Reynolds, John Sheridan, Noel Reynolds, Gavan McNerney, Ciaran McStay, Padraigh Martin, Gary Maguire, Enda Macken, Martin McGee. Subs used:  Dermot Reilly, Emmet Masterson.

Div 3: Round 2 of the division 3 is on this Sunday, it is a home game at Pairc NaGeal at 2pm (check text for any changes). This is an important fixture for us, it’s essential that we field the strongest team possible. All players who have not yet played division 1 are expected to be there along with a number of U21 players who have not played yet this year.  Con McLoughlin has put a lot of hard work in organising challenge games, etc., so please support him attending training this week, turning up on the day, and text your availability early.

Training: Training for all teams is changed for this week to Monday and Wednesday nights at 8pm. Players from the Division 3 panel are also asked to attend.

Membership Drive: Our club are looking to increase our membership numbers this year and are looking for the wider diaspora of Dromard as well as locals to be involved. We will also kick off a new initiative which offers the opportunity to sign up for a yearly subscription to the clubs lotto and in effect receive free membership to the club. A new package and pricelist is being finalised and will be published in coming days/weeks. More details to follow.

Congratulations: to the Pettit brothers, Danny our club Registrar, and senior stalwart David who celebrated their 30th birthday in Arva on Saturday night last, word is it was a night to remember. Also, good luck to all our members who are sitting the Leaving cert oral exams at the moment, and indeed to all who are preparing for any type exams at this time of year.
