Weekend Fixtures: This coming weekend our senior team return to league action when we take on Longford Slashers in Pairc Na nGeal this Saturday at 7pm. This should be a very interesting encounter between two teams who have met on many occasions in recent years in important fixtures.

Our Reserve League 1 and Division 3 squads also have important games this weekend. With both teams suffering defeats in their last outings, the games this weekend provide an opportunity to get our campaigns in both competitions back on track. Your support over the weekend for all teams is greatly appreciated.

U16: Our u16 amalgamation (St. Francis/St. Vincents) had a useful workout on Thursday night last when they travelled to Ardagh. Despite missing a number of regular starters we took an early lead through goals from Cian Cassidy, Martin McStay and Jack McGreevy. These goals, coupled with solid performances throughout, helped our lads to overcome a weakened opposition and gain our first points of the campaign. Team: M. Courtney (St. Vincents), E. Howe (St. Vincents), D. Toole (St. Francis), M. McKenna (St. Vincents), B. O'Connor (St. Vincents), D. McCormack (St. Francis), J. McGreevy (St. Vincents), L. McEntire (St. Francis), R. Crowe (St. Vincents), C. Cassidy (St. Vincents), M. McStay (St. Francis). Subs used: B. McCann, K. McNerney, J. Murtagh, R. Bleakley, T. Bouvin, S. Hagan, N. Grey, E. Mimnagh.

County Seniors: Commiserations to Diarmuid Masterson, Ronan McEntire, Francis McGee and Ross McNerney on the defeat to Offaly in Croke Park on Saturday. While the result was disappointing, the team will have an opportunity to make amends when they face the same opposition in the first round of the Leinster Championship on May 16th.

Croke Park Half Time Games: Well done to St. Patricks NS representatives Matt Duffy and Óisin O'Toole who played in Croke Park during half time in the Division 4 final on Saturday.

Annual Lotto: Over the coming weeks all members will be asked to renew their annual membership. This contribution by all of you is vital to meeting the operating costs of the club. Over the course of the year these costs total in excess of 50k. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by all from 5 to 55 years of age who benefit from the activities and teams within the club.

Race Night: Dromard Ladies are looking for sponsorship on behalf of the Ladies County Board for the race night taking place on May 23rd 2015.  It is compulsory for our ladies club to sell three of these cards.  Race cards will be circulated in the coming weeks.  For as little as €5 you can contribute or alternatively the full race could be sponsored for €50.  Anyone who sponsors a race will receive an advertisement for their business on the night. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Latin School Players: The drama group present “The Communication Cord” by Brian Friel in the Latin School Community Centre on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May at 8.30pm sharp. Tickets available in local shops.

Leinster Senior Championship, Longford v. Offaly: The Leinster Council is offering group passes for both adults and juveniles for the forthcoming championship match on 16th May at O’Connor Park Tullamore. The U16 tickets cost €3 each (stand) and €2 terrace while the price for adults is €15 (stand) and €5 terrace. The minimum order for the adult tickets is 15. Application forms must be submitted through the club secretary before 12th May.
