Any players or supporters who have still to pay their membership for
2013 can still do so at the clubhouse for the next two Monday evening between
8.30pm and 9.30pm, or if that is not convenient by calling to Bernie Green’s
(club registrar) house in Aughamore Lower. We had two senior league games over
the past week. On Tuesday last we were away to Clonguish. A
good summer’s evening set the stage for this encounter. The home
side landed the opening 2 points, both from play. Dromard responded with 3 points coming from
Declan Mimnagh (2) and Emmet Masterson (1), all from play. Clonguish regained the lead with 2
points. Dromard then scored the next 4 points without reply
before our opponents landed 2 more points which was followed by a Ross
McNerney free to leave the half time score Dromard 0.8 Clonguish
0.6. In the second half both sides exchanged a brace of
points before Clonguish reduced our lead to one with a further
point. It was the Newtown men who got through for a decisive late
goal to claim both points on the scoreline Dromard 0.10

Saturday last Mostrim were visitors to Pairc na Gael in our second outing
last week in the senior league. A Francis McGee point from play
opened the scoring. Mostrim responded in emphatic style scoring
an unanswered 1.3. Both sides registered further
scores to leave the half time score Dromard 0.4 Mostrim
1.6. The visitors further extended their lead on the
resumption. A Francis McGee goal from a free and a point from
play narrowed the margin. While both teams found their
range again with other points but at the final whistle it was Mostrim
who came out on top on the score 1.14 to 1.7. Team and

next senior championship commences. We will be pitted against St.
Brigid’s Killashee with Keenan Park Ardagh being the venue. Best wishes

duration of the competition. We would urge our faithful supporters
to come to get behind our players. Preparations are currently
under way for the Dromard 4 Schools Reunion which takes place from Friday
9th to Sunday 11th August as part of The Gathering 2013 festivities.
The following is a synopsis of events taking place over the week end. Friday,
Reunion Mass at Legga Church, Re-union Buffet at the Clubhouse /Marquee
followed by music entertainment by Kay and Nashville Sound and other local
entertainment. Full bar facilities. Tickets for Buffet and Dance are on sale
locally €15 each. Admission after 11pm will be €10. Saturday, 5k Fun
Run/Walk/Jog starting from the Clubhouse followed by refreshments (No Entry
Fee), Football Blitz in the 3-G Facility, Tours of historical sites of the
parish. Mass in Moyne followed by Blessing of Graves in adjoining cemetery.
Welcome Home Barbeque with entertainment by Nite Fever and D.J. Ken. Final of
7-aside local club masters tournament and Official Opening and Blessing of 3-G
Facility. Sunday, Parish Mass in Legga Church followed by Blessing of Legga and
Tubberpatrick Cemeteries. Why not join us for a traditional lunch at Pairc Na
Gael consisting of Boxty, Bacon, Eggs and Homemade Brown Bread followed by a
traditional day consisting of a step back in time to the re-enactment of an old
classroom scene, Ceili Music, dancing, singing and storytelling, Vintage
Display, Family Entertainment etc. Lotto results for Monday 15th
July 2013. The numbers drawn were 2, 9, 21 and 28. There was no jackpot winner.
The winners of the draw were George Taaffe, Mary Maguire, Nuala McLoughlin and
Benny Reilly, The seller's prize was won by Donna Masterson. The 7-a-side
Masters tournament is in full swing at the moment with teams from Aughavas,
Carrigallen, Arva, Colmcille, Fr. Manning Gaels and Dromard taking part. The
final of the tournament will be held over the weekend of The Gathering weekend.
The next monthly club meeting will take place next Monday night 29th
July 2013 in the clubhouse at 9pm after the weekly lotto draw. |
