Congratulations to all our winners. The draw was a huge success and we would like to express or thanks to everyone who was involved in any way with the restoration project and to the many people who travelled to the various shows and other events, the length and breadth of the country with the tractor itself. In this regard we hope that others involved won't mind if we give a special mention to John Kenny who contributed so much of his time to the cause over the last six months. To John everyone else involved, sincere thanks. On Sunday last our seniors travelled to Allen Park to play Clonguish in the Leader Cup semi final. Heavy rain fell for the duration of the game. We fell behind by 3 points at the start. We created a couple of goal scoring opportunities that weren't converted during the early stages. Cian Mimnagh pointed 2 frees while Clonguish stretched their advantage by adding a further 1-3. We pulled back a point through a James Martin free. The home side increased their lead with a further 1-2 while our lads finished the half strongly with a Cian Mimnagh goal and pointed free from the same player. The half time score was Dromard 1-04 Clonguish 2-08. Our opponents extended this lead by registering the opening score of the second half. Declan Mimnagh found the net with a well executed goal which was followed by pointed free from Cian Mimnagh. Both sides exchanged 4 points before the final whistle sounded. The final score was Dromard 2-09 Clonguish 2-13. Team and scorers; Gavin McNerney, Cathal Conefrey, Niall Vance, Paul McGee, Peadar Faughnan, John Sheridan, Peter Reynolds, James Mimnagh, Cian Mimnagh (1-07) 5 frees, Peter Masterson, Bernard Sheridan, Diarmuid Masterson, James Martin (0-02) 2 frees, Noel Reynolds, Declan Mimnagh (1-00). Subs used; Gary Maguire and Ronan McEntire. This draws an end to our senior season. The club would like to thank the senior team management comprising of Sean Hagan, Padraig Jones, Con McLoughlin, Brian Reilly and Aidan McCarron for their commitment and dedication for the past 2 years. Thanks to the ever present first aider Pat Jones and also Danny O'Toole and Noel Maguire for their important work behind the scenes. Thanks also to our panel for their efforts over the past year. We hope that everyone enjoys the time off and returns with renewed vigour for the new season. Our under 21 championship is due to commence shortly. We are in the same group as Killoe and Longford Slashers. The hurling All Stars had a local connection in Gary Maguire the Dublin goalkeeper who received an All Star for the goalkeeping position. Gary is a son of Hugh Ollie Maguire formerly of Legga. This award capped off a great year for the Ballyboden St. Enda's club man who was also part of the Dublin team that claimed the National Hurling title earlier in the year. A referee's beginner's course will take place over three nights, Tuesday November 1st, Tuesday November 8th and Tuesday November 15th. Anybody interested in attending please contact club executive. Lotto results for Monday night 17th October 2011. The numbers drawn were 6, 10, 14 and 27. The jackpot of €13,600 was not won. The winners of the draw were Jim Smith, Pat O'Neill, Sean Cooke and Thomas Skelly. The seller's prize was won by Noel Maguire.
