On Sunday last our seniors travelled to Keenan Park Ardagh to take on St. Brigid’s Killashee in our opening round of the Peter Hanley Motors senior championship.  The weather was fair but for a light shower during the course of the game.  We got off to a good start in the game and maintained our form throughout.  Our opponents kept trying to the final whistle but luck wasn't on their side on the day. On another day they could easily have had more scores to show for their efforts. The final score line of 3-22 to 0-01 didn't do justice to the amount of possession they had during the game. Team and scores; Damien Sheridan, Paul McGee, Peter Masterson, David Pettit, James Mimnagh, Peter Reynolds, Mícheál Reilly, Noel Reynolds, John Sheridan, Emmet Masterson (0-02), Ronan Mc Entire (1-03), James Martin (0-01), Ross McNerney (1-02), Francis McGee (1-08) 4 frees, Cian Mimnagh (0-06).  Subs used; Gary Maguire, Padraig McNerney, Cathal Conefrey, Donie Conefrey (1-00) and Gavin McNerney.  Other subs on the day were Enda Kiernan, Kieran Mc Stay, Niall McManus, Conal Murphy and Kevin Kane. Next round pairs us off with Granard which will take place this Saturday in Allen Park Clonguish at 8pm. The 7-a-side local club masters tournament ‘Peil Droimard Thar 40’ is currently under way on the 3G pitch. The quarter final fixtures for this week are as follows, Tuesday 30th July 9pm Dromard v. Fr. Manning Gaels. Wednesday 31st July 9pm Arva v. Aughavas. Preparations are in full swing for the Dromard 4 Schools Reunion which takes place from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th August as part of The Gathering 2013 festivities.
