Division 1 League: A busy week for our senior panel saw Dromard earn two good wins in their final two games of this year’s league campaign. On Wednesday evening in Allen Park, Dromard recorded a 1-15 to 1-10 win over Clonguish. Showing good workrate in all positions, Dromard held the upper hand for the majority of this game and established a double scores half-time lead of 1-7 to 0-5 for Clonguish with Francis McGee, who finished the game with 1-3, on target in the first half. Dromard continued to apply pressure in the second-half and could have extended their advantage even further but for a number of goal chances going astray. However, Dromard did add well-taken points from play with two coming from the boot of the prominent Gary Maguire. Emmet Masterson capped a fine all-round performance by also scoring two points from play. Ronan McEntire with four points, Ross McNerney and Peter Reynolds with a point apiece were the other Dromard scorers on the evening. The Dromard team lined out as follows: Damien Sheridan, Paul McGee, Niall Vance, Peter Masterson, Peter Reynolds, Ross McNerney, John Sheridan, Diarmuid Masterson, Ronan McEntire, David Petit, Emmet Masterson, David Bernard Sheridan, Gary Maguire, Francis McGee, James Martin. Subs: Enda Kiernan, Michael Reilly.

On Saturday evening, Dromard welcomed Granard to Pairc Na nGael and came away with two league points on a scoreline of Dromard 3-7 St Mary’s Granard 0-12. In a closely contested encounter, Dromard’s ability to score goals at vital times proved to be the decisive factor. Dromard raised the green flag twice in the first half with Gary Maguire and Francis McGee both finding the net leaving the half-time scoreline reading Dromard 2-1 St Marys Granard 0-5. Another goal from the impressive Gary Maguire in the second half gave the home team some breathing space against a determined Granard side and Dromard held on to register a four point win. The Dromard team versus Granard was as follows: Damien Sheridan, Paul McGee, Niall Vance, Peter Masterson, Peter Reynolds, James Mimnagh, John Sheridan, Diarmuid Masterson, Ronan McEntire, David Petit, James Martin, David Bernard Sheridan, Gary Maguire, Francis McGee, Pauric Martin.
