posted 15 Jan 2016, 10:51 by Eamonn Kiernan

Sympathies: The club would like to express its sympathy to the extended family of Mae Masterson, Cabinteely, Dublin and formerly of Drumury.

Longford GAA Awards: Congratulations to senior players Paul McGee and Diarmuid Masterson who were selected on the Longford GAA Team of the Year at the award’s night on Saturday last.

AGM: The AGM of Dromard GAA Club will be held on Sunday 13th of December at 3pm in the Clubhouse. Nominations will be distributed this week via the local shops, will also be sent out via email, and are also available from the secretary, secretary.dromard.longford@gaa.ie.  The club is very welcoming of new volunteers. There are many reasons why you might like to become involved; to do something that you love doing, to keep busy, to make new friends, because your children are involved, to give something back to the Association, to be involved in a successful club, or because there is a tradition of involvement in your family. We would be very interested in hearing from new members and volunteers. For those not interested in the commitment of one of the key posts, there are many smaller roles and /or committees which don’t consume much time. We would encourage all to become involved in some small way, please contact the secretary Dermot, Chairman Anthony, vice-chairman Michael or Treasurer Frank, thank you.

SOSAD (Save Our Sons and Daughters) talk: Dromard GAA has invited a Guest Speaker from SOSAD Ireland to give a talk in our clubhouse on Tuesday the 8th of December at 8:30pm sharp. SOSAD Ireland provide a range of supports to anyone who may be affected or concerned about suicide. This includes suicide interventions, psychological assessments and free counselling to anyone who needs it. We would strongly encourage people to attend, with the talk open to anyone wishing to come and it is completely free of charge. Tea and Coffee will be available on the night.

Lotto draw: The numbers Drawn for Monday the 24th November were: 10,11,12,15. There was no Jackpot winner. The €20 prizes went to Rose Martin, Regina Conboy, Martin Halpin, Mary Hopkins and the seller’s prize was won by Anne Brown. The Jackpot is now €9,200 so get your tickets at Moyne Stores, Gortamone Stores, Corrigans Gala Store or the Clubhouse. Thanks again to all who play our lotto either weekly or subscribe on an annual basis, it is very much appreciated.
