Mobile Cardiac Screening Unit:  Much media attention has been focused in recent years on the number of cases of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) among young apparently healthy people in Ireland, many of them actively involved in sports. Approx 2 young people (under 35) die each week in Ireland from SADS. Research has shown that cardiac screening can help prevent these untimely deaths. To raise awareness and to address this problem, the GAA has teamed up with Heartaid, a cork based company, ( that provides cardiac screening to schools & sports club across Ireland. It is ultimately aimed at reducing the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and promoting a healthier lifestyle. To facilitate our players and members availing of this screening, our club has arranged for the mobile Cardiac Screening Unit to attend the clubhouse at Pairc nanGael on Saturday 20th September 2014. The clinic will be open all-day from 9.30am-4.45pm. Each screening will take 20-25 minutes. For full details of how to arrange an appointment please visit our club website .

Seniors: On Friday evening last our Senior team suffered their first League defeat of the season when they were beaten by Colmcille on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-11 in McGee Park. The next focus now is on the Senior championship semi-final which will take place on Sunday next 7th September at 6.30pm in Pearse Park against Killoe. We wish them the very best of luck in this and we urge our supporters to come out in strength and give them every encouragement possible.
