On Wednesday last we travelled to Ballymore to play a special junior league against the home side. This was a useful workout and was good preparation for forthcoming championships. The home side had the better of the first half leading 3-09 to 0-06. The second half saw our team dig in showing better form. The final score was Ballymore 4-13 Dromard 0-17. Team and scorers; Danny Pettit, Aidan Gray, Niall Berry, Thomas Conefrey, Hugh Martin, Bernard Sheridan (0-01), Emmet Masterson (0-07) 4 frees, Mícheál Reilly (0-07) 1 free, Sean McNerney (0-02) 1 free, Kevin Hourican. On Friday last our div 3 team travelled to Moydow to take on Moydow. The home side started brightly but our players put in a very good effort on this occasion making it a competitive tussle particularly in the second half. While we trailed at the final whistle we scored a respectable total of 1-11. Team and scorers; Niall Berry, Conor Kiernan, James Conefrey, Thomas Conefrey, Martin McGee, Brendan McLoughlin, Emmet Masterson, Fergal Berry, Michael Reilly, Dermot Reilly, John McNaboe, Kevin Maguire, Sean McNerney, Kevin Hourican. On Saturday next our senior B championship kicks off with an away game with Abbeylara. Best of luck to all concerned. Congratulations to the Longford players and managements on a terrific win against a very good Derry outfit. This was another memorable evening for the Longford supporters who now look forward to a home against Limerick in the next round. Very well done to Damien and Francis who played vital roles in this success. Sincere condolences to the Kiernan family Ballyduffy on their recent bereavement. The July monthly club meeting will take place next Monday 9th July at 9pm in the clubhouse, after the weekly lotto draw.
