Mouthguards: Under new GAA rules from January 1st 2014, mouthguards are mandatory for players in all age grades, in all Gaelic football practice sessions and games. Players can be sent-off in a game for not wearing a mouthguard. While there are stock mouthguards that can be bought in shops, dentist custom-fitted mouthguards are individually designed and made in a lab with special material and offer the best protection against injury and should not affect player performance, breathing, and speech. These normally cost over €60, however, we have organised a group discount based on a minimum of 20 players where the cost will be discounted to €30 each (plus €5 per colour if you would like coloured versions). A Dental Hygienists has been organised to come to the club house this Friday the 7th March from 7:00pm until 8:30pm to make impression of your teeth. The underage (13 years and upwards), Ladies, and Senior adult team managers are requested to have their players there between these times. The €30 must be paid to the Dental Hygienists before impressions are made. Mouthguards will be posted out a week later.
