Club Notes for Friday 8th February 2013

Our senior AGM took place in the clubhouse on Saturday night last Saturday night which was well attended. The following officers were elected for 2013. Chairman: Joseph Murphy, Vice Chairman: Seamus Quinn, Secretary: Willie Healy, Assistant Secretary, Fixtures Secretary: Sean Conefrey: Treasurer: Marian Maguire, Assistant Treasurer: John Joe Donohoe, PRO: Eamonn Kiernan, Assistant PRO: Sean Conefrey, Registrars: Bernie Green and Paul McEntire, Coaching Officer: Sean Conefrey, County Board Delegates: Gerry Mimnagh and Seamus Quinn (subs Pat Jones and Joseph Murphy). Irish and cultural officer: Peter Masterson, Ground maintenance: Noel Maguire, Michael Masterson and John Joe Donohoe, Lotto Committee: Nuala McLoughlin, Marian Maguire, Noel Maguire and Bernie Green. Hard luck to Longford senior panel and management on losing out narrowly in the final minutes of the game to Wexford on Sunday last in the first round of the National football league.  Well done to our representatives Damien and Francis who both performed very well on the day.  Best wishes again to the county panel on next Sunday when they take on neighbours Westmeath in Pearse Park.  Well done to Peter Masterson who played his part in Athlone IT's win in their Sigerson Cup 1st round game during the past week. Longforrd County Board are offering a number of scholarship grants to the Gaeltacht in 2013. Application forms are available to download from the Longford GAA website or you can also access it via a link from the club website . Applicants must be 13 years or older on 1st January 2013. The completed forms should be returned by post or email to Michael O’Sullivan, Oifigeach Gaeilge agus Cultuir, Longford County Board GAA, Drumlish Hill, Drumlish, Co. Longford before 15th February 2013. Fitness classes in the clubhouse continue this week with a new 6 week class starting this Monday 4th February 2013 - Kettlebells with Abi at 7.15 followed by a Pilates class at 8.30 - Kettlebells class will be limited to 15 unless you have your own kettlebells. Lotto Results for Monday 25th January 2012. The numbers drawn were 6, 12, 21 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the draw were Louise Kane, Lorraine Kane, Bernie Smith and Ann Brady. The seller’s prize was won by Bernie Greene. Finally we would like to extend our sincere sympathy to Collette Masterson, Firmullagh and to the Mulleady family Drumlish on the tragic and untimely death of Sean Mulleady last week.
