Sympathy: Dromard GAA extends its sympathy to the Kiernan family, Fyhora, on the passing of Anna Kiernan. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal.

Minor B Winners: St Francis/St. Vincents Minor amalgamation team brought the first piece of Silverware home in  2015, by winning the Minor 'B' Football Championship Shield  (Saturday 19th September). The game was excellently refereed by Stephen Tierney, but it must be said that both teams were intent on playing football making Stephen’s job easier. This is the first year that the two clubs have amalgamated at Minor and Juvenile level.

Carrick Sarsfields proved to be a very strong, well organised and skilful team, with lots of excellent footballers all over the field. Indeed, but for a few injuries during the game the scoreline would have been much closer at the end. The club would like to wish their player Sean Doherty a speedy recovery. The lack of game time for St. Francis/St. Vincents was evident in the first twenty minutes as we struggled to get to the speed of the game and Carrick Sarsfields ran up a six point lead, with some excellent long range points and an excellent goal. St Francis/St. Vincents responded with two points from play. A few changes in personnel seemed to spark our team into action and, with scores coming easier up front,  St.Francis/St.Vincents ended the game with a fine win, on a scoreline of Carrick Sarsfields 1-9 St. Francis/St. Vincents 3-14. Thanks to the management team of Paul Hourican, Colin Crowe, Martin Mulleady and Eamon Hughes. Also a special work of thanks to our sponsor of the new jerseys for the Minor/Juvenile team and for providing food for the team after the final.

Division 2 Final: On Saturday last, the minor team went down to Granard in the Division 2 final. A report will be included in next week’s notes.
