On Friday evening last our reserve league 3 team travelled to Moran Park to take on Carrickedmond.  The evening was dry and suitable for football.  This was a good workout for our lads who played some very good football through the hour.  We were able to register a very creditable score on the evening and our players kept trying right to the finish.  Great credit to all who turned out on the day. Final score was Dromard 2-05 Carrickedmond 4-09 Team and scorers;  Danny Pettit, James Conefrey, Liam Doherty, Hugh Martin, Ronan Smith, Mark Murtagh, Michael Reynolds, Keith Masterson (1-01), Martin McGee, Niall McManus (0-02), Kevin Hourican, Niall Berry, Peter Mimnagh (1-02).  On Saturday our seniors travelled to Keenan Park Ardagh to play our second round of the All County league.  The pitch was in immaculate condition combined with the dry evening the stage was set for this league encounter. The breeze assisted the home side in the opening period but it was Dromard who opened the scoring through Gary Maguire and Declan Mimnagh points from play.  A Cillian Farrell point from play was the home side's response before Kevin Donohoe slotted over a point from play.  Ardagh pulled back a point to leave the margin at a single point.  The remainder of the half saw both sides exchange 2 points to leave the half time score Dromard 0-05 Ardagh 0-04. The home side dominated the early exchanges on the restart scoring a point from play and unlucky not to have more scores to show for their possession.  Dromard upped their efforts and were able to score 3 points on the trot coming from Declan Mimnagh (2) and a Gary Maguire effort.  A brace of points from Ross McNerney were cancelled out by two Ardagh points.  With the game still in the balance it was Dromard who struck with decisive goals from Gary Maguire and Ross McNerney to leave the full time score of Dromard 2-10 Ardagh 0-7.  Team and scorers;  Damien Sheridan, James Mimnagh, Peter Masterson, John Sheridan, Mícheál Reilly, Paul McGee, Peter Reynolds, Noel Reynolds, Bernard Sheridan, David Pettit, James Martin (0-01) 1 free, Kevin Donohoe (0-01), Ross McNerney (1-02), Declan Mimnagh (0-04) 1 45, 1 free, Gary Maguire (1-02).  Sub used.  Emmet Masterson.  Other subs on the day were Kieran McStay, Enda Kiernan, Donie Conefrey & Dermot Reilly. On Sunday our Div. 3 panel made the short journey to Fr. McGee Park Colmcille to play their 2nd round in this competition.  The weather stayed dry for the duration of the game and the breeze assisted the home side in the opening half.  Colmcille opened the scoring with a point from play.  A Jimmy Kiernan goal was our response.  The first half flowed well from start to finish with both sides playing very good passages of football.  A second goal following fine work from Peter Mimnagh left the half time score Dromard 2-04 Colmcille 1-12.  Our players kept working hard trying to reduce the deficit on the turnover.  Displaying plenty of determination in defence, strong work rate at midfield and good movement in our forward line it wasn't to be on the day as it was Colmcille who gained the spoils.  Full time score Dromard 2-08 Colmcille 2-18.  Team and scorers;  Niall Berry, Thomas Conefrey, Stephen Kenny, Conor Kiernan, Robert Cooke, Ronan Smith, James Kenny, Martin McGee, Niall McManus (0-01), Sean McNerney (0-02) 1 free, Dermot Reilly (0-01), Liam Doherty, John McNaboe, Peter Mimnagh (1-03), Jimmy Kiernan (1-00).  Next weekend we have a reserve league 1 game this Saturday with a home fixture against Fr. Manning Gaels.  We play Clonguish in reserve league 3 again in Pairc na Gael next weekend.  Congratulations to Cnoc Mhuire on their wonderful achievement of winning their All Ireland title. Sincere sympathies to the McNerney family Edenmore and the the Murtagh family Corglass on their recent bereavements. We also extend our condolences to the Masterson and Cassidy families, Firmullagh, on the death of their uncle John Joe (Jack) Masterson who died recently in London.
