Approximately fifty men women and children donned their walking shoes on Sunday last and took part in the 5km fun walk around the roads of Aughamore and Legga as part of the National Trails Day 2011. The weather stayed favourable for the occasion and all enjoyed the day. Given the level of interest, it is hoped, as follow on from this, to organise regular walks in the coming weeks. Check club notes and local notes in The Leader for details. Our seniors had two outing this week. On Wednesday we took on St. Columba's in Monaduff. We played with the breeze in the opening half. Our opponents had the better of the early exchanges opening up a 1-04 to 0-01 lead. By half time we had drew level on the score line Dromard 2-02 St. Columba's 1-05. The two goals were complements of two Cian Mimnagh penalty strikes. The second half started as the first with Mullinalaghta scoring the next 4 points. We pulled back points but we were unable to bridge the gap. Subs used; Bernard Sheridan, Emmet Masterson (0-01) and Donie Conefrey (0-01). On Saturday we travelled to Cashel to play our last league fixture of the season. The home side opened the scoring with a pointed free. We responded with 1-04 with the goal coming from a Cian Mimnagh penalty. By half time we led 1-04 to 0-04. The second half was a tight affair with the home team enjoying plenty of possession. We finished strongly scoring an unanswered 2-02 with James Martin and Emmet Masterson the goal scorers. We play Mostrim in the quarter final next Saturday in Pairc na Gael on Saturday next. We had a useful u21 challenge against Carrigallen on Sunday last in Pairc na Gael. Lotto results for Monday night 26th September 2011. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the draw were Collette Pettit, Ann McNeill, Paddy Martin and Michael Smith & Teresa Vance. The seller's prize was won by Con McLoughlin.
